You can read my thoughts on this new bike computer in my Wahoo ELEMNT Ace review.
The specifications of Wahooโs latest bike computer, the ELEMNT Ace, were leaked a few days before its official launch on December 3rd. A leaked image posted on the popular Weight Weenies forum revealed Ace’s full specifications and features.
KEY TAKEAWAY
The ELEMNT Ace will have a brand-new design and more high-end functionalities. It will be the first ELEMNT with a touchscreen display (combined with control buttons). You will be able to start navigation using voice commands, and there is also an integrated wind sensor. It will measure airspeed in real time. You can review them post-ride to get insights into how wind conditions impact your performance. ACE should last up to 30 hours and cost $599.99.
NOTE: While the leaked details provide an in-depth look, the final product launch may bring additional surprises.
Key Features of the Wahoo ELEMNT Ace
Based on the leaked information, here’s everything you need to know about the Wahoo ELEMNT Ace.

Touchscreen and Tactile Controls
The Ace is Wahoo’s first bike computer to feature a vibrant touchscreen. We will finally be able to interact with maps and data through pinch, swipe, and tap gestures. However, for those who prefer physical buttons, Wahoo hasnโt abandoned its classic tactile controlsโperfect for riding in rough terrains or with gloves. This is the same approach as Hammerhead Karoo 3, Sigma Rox 12.1 EVO, Garmin Edge 840, and other bike computers.

Voice-Enabled Navigation
While Edge 1050 offers voice commands when navigating, it seems that Ace will only allow you to enable navigation with your voice. It probably won’t provide voice commands. Of course, the navigation can re-route you if you go off course.
The image claims the “Ace introduces Summit Freeride” feature, which is basically a ClimbPro copy. However, this feature has been available on BOLT 2 and ROAM 2 head units for some time, so it’s actually not new. If interested, feel free to dive deeper into my Summit Freeride and ClimbPro comparison.
Aero Awareness with Wind Dynamics
In an industry-first, the ELEMNT Ace integrates a wind sensor to measure airspeed in real-time. This data can be reviewed post-ride with Wahoo Wind Dynamics, offering insights into how wind conditions impact performance. I’m very curious about this, especially in terms of actual data usefulness. What do you think about this feature? Let me know in the comments below.

Battery Life
The claimed up to 30-hour battery life pleasantly surprised me. It’s basically double the ELEMNT BOLT 2 and ROAM 2. I absolutely appreciate this and can’t wait to test the reality. A 20+ battery life is becoming a standard (not talking about the USB-C charging port).
Customizable Design
Wahoo is introducing a “twist” with the ELEMNT Ace. You can customize Ace with removable trim plates available in blue, red, and black. This is similar to what we’ve seen on Hammerhead Karoo 2. It’s a nice detail but not a dealbreaker for me.

Ready-to-Ride Dashboard
From the images, it’s clear that the user interface was redesigned. It should include a dashboard that streamlines your pre-ride setup. You will be able to select activity profiles, load routes quickly, and check battery and sensor status at a glance. That’s nice. I just hope that the user interface won’t be as clunky as on Garmin Edge head units.
Wahoo Ecosystem Integration
The Ace should seamlessly integrate into the Wahoo ecosystem. It pairs with the TRACKR Heart Rate Monitor, cadence and speed sensors, and integrates with SYSTM training plans. Of course, you will be able to connect it with other ANT+ sensors and load workouts directly.

Pricing
According to the leaked image, hereโs how the Wahoo ELEMNT Ace will be priced:
- USD: $599.99
- CAD: $849.99
- EUR: โฌ599.99
- GBP: ยฃ549.99
- AUD: $999.95
- JPY: ยฅ99,000
This price increase in the bike computer market doesn’t make me happy, and I think it’s not justified. What do you think? Ace is just $100 cheaper than Edge 1050, so I think many customers will prefer E1050 instead. Karoo 3 is much cheaper ($475), so I’m really curious how these three will stack up against each other.
What Makes the ELEMNT Ace Stand Out?
The Ace brings together Wahooโs hallmark simplicity with next-generation features. The touchscreen, wind awareness, and Summit Freeride distinguish it from its predecessors, while the robust integration with the Wahoo ecosystem ensures a smooth experience for users who are already fans of the brand.
With a claimed 30-hour battery life, dual-band GPS, and advanced navigation, the Ace is designed for long-distance and competitive riders who demand the best from their equipment.
Will Ace Be Competitive?
We haven’t seen a proper upgrade of their bike computers from Wahoo in a long time. ELEMNT Ace seems to be a much more advanced head unit than BOLT and ROAM. But compared to competing flagships like the Hammerhead Karoo 3 or Garmin Edge 1050, it doesn’t seem to be that advanced.
However, Wahoo ELEMNT bike computers are known for being easy to use, so I hope that will be true for this model as well. I should receive it as soon as it is available in the Czech Republic, so I will start testing it soon.

Something like this has been long overdue for long sighted riders like myself who want details on one page but can’t read small fonts. Sadly, I think they’ve arrived too late to the party.
Hi Phil,
yes, I have no idea what Wahoo have been doing all these years because they don’t offer that many products. They seem to have spent a lot of resources on the treadmill instead of developing their line of bike computers.

Anybody know if the mount is backward compatible with Roam V2
Hi Simon,
I’ve just tried it (yes, I already have Ace) and Ace can’t be used with past mounts. But, you can use ROAM (v1) with Ace mount.
