ROUVY, one of the most popular indoor cycling apps, has just announced new subscriptions to make it cheaper than ever.

Until today, you could only subscribe to ROUVY as an individual for $15/month, $84/six months, or $144/year per person. However, starting October 11, 2023, you can choose from three plans (Duo and Group are new):

  • $14.99/month for a single person
  • $19.99 for two people ($9.99/person)/month
  • $32.99 for up to 5 people ($6.6)/month
*USD and EUR prices are the same

The savings for the users will be considerable, especially if more people get on the same page. At the same time, this move could lead to attracting new users to ROUVY.

This is another step, right after this year’s redesign, to make ROUVY a more attractive platform for cycling enthusiasts. It is still lagging far behind Zwift, and it is questionable whether it can ever catch up. The two apps are significantly different. You can read more in my comparison of ROUVY and Zwift.

I believe this is a welcome change for ROUVY users. However, I am not sure if it will be interesting enough for users of competing applications.

What do you think about this move? Let me know in the comments.

I was reading some opinions on this. The users that have already been using the app for longer can keep their “legacy” accounts where more users were allowed for the price of one user, so those are lucky Rouvy does not steal that privilege from them. Otherwise, it can be a nice and attractive offer for cycling/triathlon clubs where groups of 5 can easily be put together for the most savings. Rouvy is a good app and has something to offer, like the endless amount of real-existing routes from all around the world, and nice workout plans. If someone is tired of virtual worlds, this is a decent option.
