Zwift has a new, more expensive tier. Zwift Plus launched at $29.99 a month, $10 more than standard Zwift. For that, you get training plans that adapt to you and real-world video routes. The funny thing is, these are exactly the two points I listed under “Avoid if” in my Zwift review.

But wait. Zwift already owns ROUVY, the app known for real-world video. Zwift Plus looks like ROUVY, but it’s not ROUVY. To be honest, I don’t understand this move.

NOTE: I haven’t tested Zwift Plus (yet). The test results I mention come from indoor cycling apps I’ve tested myself.

So, what do you get for the extra $10, and what does it mean for ROUVY?

Introducing Zwift Plus | Zwift Coach + Zwift Video
Zwift Plus

What’s in Zwift Plus

Zwift launched Zwift Plus on October 29, 2026. It includes everything in standard Zwift, plus Zwift Coach and Zwift Video:

  • Zwift Coach: a training plan that adapts to your goal, your schedule, and the sessions you miss or change. You set your goal, available days, experience, and ride preferences. Zwift then builds a 4, 8, or 12-week plan, or a plan for an event up to six months ahead. The plan mixes ERG workouts with routes, RoboPacers, and events. Zwift says the plans come from a “training model grounded in peer-reviewed sports science”. You need the Zwift Companion app, and you can’t change a plan’s goal once you’ve created it.
  • Zwift Video: real-world video routes filmed in 4K, with Zwift avatars and game features. At launch, there are 21 routes in six countries (France, Norway, South Africa, Spain, the UK, and the USA), 385 km (239 mi) in total. Examples include Sa Calobra in Spain, Cime de la Bonette in France, and Arches National Park in the USA. Video quality goes from 720p to 4K, depending on your device. Zwift says it plans to add new routes regularly.
  • Zwift game features on video: PowerUps, segment leaderboards, HoloReplays, Drops, and XP work on the video routes too. You can also ride any workout on any video route.
  • Plus only, cycling only: Zwift Coach and Zwift Video are only available with Zwift Plus. Both are for cycling only, so Zwift Plus adds nothing for running.

What Zwift Video Can’t Do Yet

Zwift Video has some clear limits at launch:

  • No group riding yet: you can only do free rides and workouts. Group rides, races, meetups, RoboPacers, and other events aren’t supported. Zwift says organized events and meetups will come “in the coming months”.
  • No mobile data: you need Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Zwift recommends at least 50 Mbps.
  • Extra storage: Zwift Video needs 3 GB of additional storage on your device.
  • Fixed camera: you can’t change the camera view.
  • No U-turns: you can’t turn around or ride a route in reverse. At the end, you go back to the start.

Zwift Plus Price

Here’s how the Zwift Plus launch prices compare with standard Zwift:

MarketZwift monthlyZwift annualZwift Plus monthlyZwift Plus annual
United States$19.99$199.99$29.99$299.99
United Kingdom£17.99£179.99£26.99£269.99
Eurozone€19.99€199.99€29.99€299.99
Zwift and Zwift Plus launch prices

So, in the US, Zwift Plus costs $10 a month or $100 a year more than standard Zwift. That’s 50% more.

Trial: new members get a 14-day free trial with all Zwift Plus features when they sign up for a monthly plan. You need a payment method, and you’re billed automatically after the trial. Annual plans have no trial, but new customers get a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Upgrading and downgrading: an upgrade to Zwift Plus starts right away, and you pay a prorated price. A downgrade to standard Zwift starts at your next renewal.

Launch offer for existing members: this is for current and previous members that Zwift bills directly. You have to claim it by the end of the day on November 13, 2026.

  • Monthly members pay their current Zwift price for their next month of Zwift Plus.
  • Annual members pay a prorated Zwift Plus price for the rest of their current year, then get 10% off the next year.
  • Returning members get Zwift Plus for the standard Zwift price for their first billing cycle.
  • You can’t claim the offer if you pay through the Apple App Store.

One more thing about the price. In how I score indoor cycling apps, anything over $25 a month gets 1 out of 5 for price. Zwift Plus would land in that band. None of the apps I’ve scored so far is that expensive. Standard Zwift got 3 out of 5 for price.

It Looks Like ROUVY, but It’s Not ROUVY

Zwift completed the acquisition of ROUVY on April 29, 2026. The terms weren’t disclosed. In the announcement, Zwift said both apps “will continue to operate independently, with differentiated roadmaps and subscription packages.” Zwift Ready smart trainers and the Zwift Ride also started working with ROUVY that day.

Back then, Zwift CEO Eric Min praised ROUVY for “demonstrating there is a strong market for real video experiences.” Exactly six months later, Zwift launched its own real-world video routes. Inside Zwift, not inside ROUVY.

And Zwift Video does look like ROUVY. ROUVY also puts riders on real-world video. It uses augmented reality, which means your avatar and other riders are drawn on top of the real video. In my review, I called ROUVY the best augmented reality indoor cycling app I tested.

But it’s not ROUVY. Zwift Video is a Zwift Plus feature inside the Zwift app, with a separate subscription. It launched with 21 routes. ROUVY has over 1,500 routes. To be fair, that big library has a downside. In my ROUVY review, I found the riders are spread thin, so you might feel lonely.

This is why I don’t understand this move. Zwift already owns the app with the real-world routes. Now it asks Zwift members to pay $10 more a month for 21 routes of its own.

Let’s look at the numbers. ROUVY Single costs $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year. So Zwift Plus costs $120 a year more than ROUVY Single (€120 more in Europe). And ROUVY Duo, which covers two riders, costs $29.99 a month. That’s the same as one Zwift Plus membership.

Of course, the apps are not the same. In my ROUVY vs. Zwift comparison, I picked Zwift for its gamification, community, and e-racing. ROUVY won on the world itself. It feels more like Google Street View.

I don’t understand why Zwift doesn’t invest more in ROUVY instead. Or maybe I do. Maybe Zwift just wants to squeeze its existing customers.

Will Zwift Kill the ROUVY Brand?

It’s the obvious question. Zwift now has its own video routes. So, does it still need a separate ROUVY brand?

There’s even a precedent within the same group. The ROUVY Group, which also includes FulGaz, bought BKOOL in 2025. A few months later, it merged BKOOL into the ROUVY app and closed the BKOOL app on November 30, 2025. At the time, ROUVY’s CEO said ROUVY and FulGaz “continue unchanged under our multi-brand strategy.” BKOOL didn’t.

Could Zwift do the same with ROUVY one day? Maybe. But I don’t think it will happen anytime soon. ROUVY still invests heavily in its own brand. Just look at what it has done in 2026:

  • January: renewed its partnerships with the Visma | Lease a Bike and Lidl-Trek teams for two more years.
  • March: became the Official Training Partner of the Giro d’Italia, Strade Bianche, and other RCS races.
  • May: relaunched the ROUVY Companion app as version 2.0.
  • June: added clubs, communities, and in-ride chat.
  • September: released ROUVY 4.7 with enhanced videos and Zwift and TrainerRoad integrations.
  • October: ran ROUVY FEST, a two-week global festival from October 12 to 25.

Everything from May on happened after Zwift bought ROUVY. That doesn’t look like a brand that’s about to disappear.

ROUVY’s CEO Petr Samek also promised in April that “ROUVY will continue to be the ROUVY you all know and love.” I couldn’t find anything newer from Zwift or ROUVY about the future of the ROUVY brand. So this is just my prediction, not a fact.

How Zwift Plus Fits With the Apps I’ve Tested

Here’s how Zwift Plus compares with the indoor cycling apps I’ve reviewed:

Zwift Plus vs. the indoor cycling apps I’ve tested

Zwift Plus is the only app in this table over $25 a month. What you pay extra for is a training plan and real-world routes inside the Zwift world you already know.

If you mainly want training that adapts to you, TrainerRoad has Adaptive Training. I called it the best indoor cycling app for improving your performance.

If you mainly want real-world routes, ROUVY and FulGaz are, in my opinion, on another level compared with standard Zwift.

And if you don’t want to pay at all, MyWhoosh is the best free one. You’ll find all of them in my best indoor cycling apps list.

My Take

I can’t tell you yet how Zwift Coach or Zwift Video ride. I haven’t tested them, but I will soon.

On paper, Zwift Plus makes the most sense if you already love Zwift and want a training plan and some real-world routes without leaving the app. If that’s you, try it with the 14-day trial as a new member, or with the launch offer if you’re already a member.

If video routes are the main reason you’re looking, ROUVY has far more of them and costs $10 a month less. If adaptive training is what you’re after, TrainerRoad is cheaper too.

If you have a question about Zwift Plus, or you’ve already tried it, let me know in the comments.
