Lún, a sub-brand of Winspace, is preparing to launch the ultralight Lún HYPER Light wheelset, weighing just 1250g. This weight is for the D45 (46mm front and 55mm rear) rim profile. Although the exact release date remains unknown, teaser videos have begun circulating on Chinese social media.
This development seems to be Lún’s strategic response to competitors like Farsports, YOELEO, and Elitewheels, who already offer sub-1300g wheelsets with around 50mm rim depth.
The new HYPER Light wheels are expected to feature a modern design, boasting an internal width of 23.4mm and an external width of 30.6mm. These dimensions are optimized to enhance tire-rim transitions for 30mm and 32mm tires. However, Lún recommends only 25-30mm tires.
The image also reveals that the wheels are made from T700 carbon. The wheels feature carbon spokes and a choice between Shimano and SRAM XDR freehub bodies.
There are 3 rim finishes available, including the UD mat we know from HYPER 3, a glossy finish with striped decals, and black/white. Those black/white ones look amazing if you ask me.
Pricing details for Western markets remain unconfirmed. In China, the price is 9400 CNY, which is around 1284 USD. I expect the price to be higher in Western markets, likely around 1500 USD.
