These are the best Chinese carbon road bike frames for rim and disc brakes, including lightweight, aero, and all-rounder ones. I’ve been following the Chinese carbon industry for several years and ride a Chinese bike. To save you time, I read hundreds of reviews, forum threads, and customer experiences and watched hours of video reviews. I also interviewed owners, bike builders, and manufacturers to help you choose wisely.
KEY TAKEAWAY
I recommend avoiding non-branded Chinese carbon frames because of their questionable quality. These vendors also often lack accountability and proper customer support. Buying counterfeit frames is also a bad idea. Again, you usually don’t know about the quality of the frames, and then there is also the moral aspect. Buy from established brands that care about their reputation. The brands listed below are UCI-approved, tested in-house, or meet other safety standards (e.g., ISO 4210).
Don’t have too high expectations of cheap frames. There are reasons for their low price. It usually manifests in worse attention to detail and tolerances and a not-very-sophisticated carbon layout, leading to poorer ride characteristics.

Winspace SLC3 (Best Chinese Lightweight Frame)

Main Features
- Frame Type: Lightweight (climbing)
- Warranty: 3 years
- Seatpost included
- Made of Toray T1100+T1000+M46+M65 carbon fiber
- Sealed through axles
- Dropped seatstays
- The integrated cockpit is not included
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 699g (unpainted)
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: BB86
- Sizes available: 46, 48, 50, 53, and 55cm
I have had positive experiences with Winspace bikes and their Agile frame. That’s why I believe the third-generation SLC frame is worth recommending. I saw it with my own eyes at Eurobike 2024, and it looks great.
It is extremely lightweight (the matt black variants weigh around 700g in size M), has sealed-through axles for a cleaner look, and has dropped seat stays that improve ride comfort. I’ve already tested this on my Agile frame.
Surprisingly, the use of a round 27.2mm seatpost is not so common these days. Winspace also claims 31.8% higher stiffness of the head tube and 21.6% of the bottom bracket area. Although I can’t measure this, it will just feel stiffer than the previous generation. There is also a wider tire clearance on the SLC3, which is 32mm, compared to the SLC2, which was limited to just 28mm.
The downside is that the weight with paint will be at least 100g more. The frameset doesn’t include an integrated cockpit, so you’ll have to pay extra for it. Fortunately, there are plenty of handlebar widths and stem lengths available. I’d rather see a T47 BB standard for ease of fitment, even at the expense of weight.
Winspace has also quite logically decided not to offer a rim brake option. On the other hand, we finally got to see some more creative colors from them.
Although the higher price may deter some buyers, it’s essential to note that the quality of this frame (e.g., bottom bracket tolerances, etc.) is comparable to those made by Western manufacturers, making its price more reasonable.

YOELEO R12 (Best All-Rounder Frameset)

Main Features
- Frame Type: Hybrid (all-rounder)
- UCI approved
- In-house tested
- Warranty: 6 years
- Seatpost and handlebar included
- Custom painting available
- Optionable stem length and handlebar width
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 1000g (54cm size)
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: BB386
- Sizes available: 43, 47, 50, 52, 54, 56, and 59cm
The YOELEO R12 frameset is a versatile all-rounder that’s popular mainly because of its ride comfort. I’ve been riding it for around two years, and while I agree it has comfortable, relaxed geometry, it also has a pretty stiff rear end. So, if you combine it with super stiff wheels, the ride comfort suffers a bit.
The frameset can accommodate tires up to 32mm wide, making it suitable for roads ranging from smooth tarmac to light gravel. I’ve tried knobby tires for rides in the forest, and it’s fun. But of course, a dedicated gravel bike like the YOELEO G21 is much more suitable for it.
What I liked about the R12 was its durability. It handled everything I threw at it, so I wasn’t worried about it falling apart under my hands. I felt like I was in a tank, like I could ride it through anything. You can read more in my YOELEO R12 review or watch the following video.
I got my frame with a manufacturing defect (the rear wheel was slightly misaligned). The Czech distributor YOELEO assured me that they do not refer to manufacturing defects in the new generation. I have personally inspected several of the new R12s, and they look on point.
Based on today’s standard, the R12 is outdated and deserves a redesign. However, it’s still a well-made frame that will serve you well. Another benefit is that you can specify the handlebar width and stem length to ensure the best possible fit, which is not always an option with mainstream brands. Additionally, the cockpit is included in the price.

Winspace T1550 Gen 2

Main Features
- Frame Type: Aero
- UCI approved
- Warranty: 3 years
- Seatpost included
- The integrated cockpit is not included
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Somewhat aggressive stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 828+/-35g for M size (Unpainted)
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: T47
- Sizes available: 44, 47, 49, 52, and 55cm
The T1550 Gen 2 is the first Chinese frame that made it to the World Tour peloton, although “only” in women’s cycling. That’s thanks to the Winspace team that competed at 2024 La Vuelta Femenina. It’s one of the sleekest aero frames out there, and that’s also thanks to the sealed through axles.
The T1550 is a successor to the T1500, and its second generation is lighter and stiffer (you know that drill). I like that it has a T47 BB, which is pretty easy to install and has 32mm tire clearance. That’s great if you want to ride wider tires for the added comfort (and speed?).
It’s a shame that the integrated cockpit is not included, and you have to order the Zero SL handlebar separately. I would also like to see wind tunnel data. Ultimately, it’s an aero frame, so seeing how it compares to alternatives would be interesting.

SEKA Exceed RDC

Main Features
- Frame Type: Hybrid
- UCI approved
- Warranty: Lifetime
- Seatpost and handlebar included
- Expensive
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Somewhat aggressive stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 1111g
- Brake Type: Rim and disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: up to 25%
- Bottom bracket: T47
- Sizes available: 51, 53, 55, 57, and 59cm
SEKA is one of China’s most premium cycling brands. Their Exceed RDC model combines lightweight and aerodynamics. I considered including their recently introduced Seka Spear, but there are still no reviews, and its availability is extremely limited. Exceed is more proven.
Initially, there was some negativity around SEKA because of a partnership with distributor 100cycling, who couldn’t handle the communication. However, I spoke with the owner of a SEKA Exceed RDC, who also has experience with premium brands. He praised the rideability and quality of workmanship.
It is speculated that the frames are made close to, or maybe even in, the same factory as the Factor. Maybe that’s why they’re so similar. I don’t know the answer to that question. And honestly, I don’t think it’s that important because I like this style.
However, the main drawbacks are the high price compared to other Chinese alternatives, the lack of a distribution network, and questionable customer support, which probably has to deal with many requests.
But, based on my conversation with the SEKA representative, I am convinced that they take the feedback seriously and are working hard to fix all the issues.
ICAN Flyee

Main Features
- Frame Type: Lightweight
- Warranty: 2 years
- Comprehensive custom painting configurator
- More affordable than some alternatives
- The integrated cockpit is not included
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Somewhat aggressive stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 867g
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: 15% discount on the retail price
- Bottom bracket: T47
- Sizes available: 47, 50, 52, 54, and 57cm
ICAN’s bike brand, Triaero, focuses solely on bike frames, and their 2024 lightweight frame Flyee is worth your attention. However, right in the beginning, we have to talk about the elephant in the room. The design is probably heavily inspired by Orbea Orca and Superior X-Road. It looks like a blend of these two.
Considering the price of Flyee and T47 bottom bracket standard, it has a respectable weight of under 900g (in size 52). What I absolutely love the most, though, is the ability to customize the color of this frame (although I do like the default variants too). ICAN has a custom configurator that allows you to select the variant you like. ICAN’s crash replacement program is the cherry on top.
Although there are no reviews for this frame yet, I believe it deserves its place here. ICAN bikes and frames (especially the A22) are praised for their excellent value for money. I would love to test this frame in person one day.

Elves Falath Pro

Main Features
- Frame Type: Aero
- In-house tested
- Warranty: 5 years
- Seatpost included
- Available in many original color schemes
- Custom painting available
- The integrated cockpit is not included
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 1080g (54cm size)
- Brake Type: Rim or disc
- Tire clearance: up to 28mm tires
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: BB86
- Sizes available: 44, 46, 49, 52, 54, 56, and 59cm
Elves frames are known for their excellent paint quality and wide range of color options, including custom finishes. Falath Pro (Disc) has relaxed geometry, making it comfortable to ride despite being an aero frame. It can accommodate up to 28mm tires, and cables can be routed internally.
What sets this frame apart is that it is available for disc or rim brakes, which is uncommon for aero frames. Additionally, it comes with an extended 5-year warranty and meets ISO 4210 standards.
Falath Pro is available in 7 sizes. Unfortunately, the integrated cockpit is not included; you must buy it separately. For the best aesthetic, I recommend pairing it with an Elves Orome handlebar.
In early 2023, Elves introduced a new generation of this frame called the Elves Falath Evo. I saw it in person, and it doesn’t look as bulky as in the pictures, but its geometry is somehow weird.
YOELEO R11
Main Features
- Frame Type: Lightweight (climbing)
- UCI approved
- Warranty: 6 years
- Seatpost and integrated cockpit included (optionable stem length and handlebar width)
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 850g (54cm size)
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 30mm tires (rim brakes), up to 32mm tires (disc brakes)
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: BB86
- Sizes: 49, 52, 54, 56, and 59cm
The YOELEO R11 is a lightweight frameset that includes a frame (850g), fork (390g), handlebar, and seat post (204g). Unfortunately, you won’t be happy if you’re a fan of rim brakes, as the rim brake option was recently discontinued.
Anyway, the frameset is compatible with mechanical or electrical groupsets, and you can select the handlebar width and stem length for the best fit. I saw the R11 at a friend’s place and also at the Czech distributors. It’s a traditional-looking bike with slightly dropped seat stays. According to him, the narrow seat stay provides excellent ride comfort. You can read more info in the YOELEO R11 review.
The R11 can accommodate up to 32mm wide tires, which should be even faster and more comfortable than 28mm (at least according to many tests and experiments made by people on YouTube). Additionally, YOELEO improved the smoothness of the internal carbon structure thanks to new EPS+Latex frame molding, making cable routing easy.

Winspace Agile

Main Features
- Frame Type: All-rounder
- UCI approved
- Warranty: 3 years
- Seatpost included
- The integrated cockpit is not included
- Sealed through axles
- It can absorb a lot of ride vibration thanks to narrow seatpost and dropped seatstays
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 1059g+467g+168g (frame L, fork, seatpost)
- Brake Type: Disc
- Tire clearance: up to 32mm tires
- Crash replacement: n/a
- Bottom bracket: T47
- Sizes available: 41, 44, 47, 51, 55cm
Winspace Agile is the first bike I built. Previously, I owned YOELEO R12, and honestly, I didn’t expect such a difference between these two bikes. First, the design and attention to detail is much higher. Notice the sealed-through axles; they make the bike look cleaner.
Second, ride comfort. Thanks to the narrow seatpost and dropped seat stays, the seat can absorb more ride vibration, making the ride more comfortable. This is especially noticeable during long rides when I’m not so tired because of the lack of vibration fatigue.
The geometry also suits me better, so I can better engage my hamstring during my pedalstroke. However, this can also be influenced by the switch from 175mm to 165mm cranks.
When I received the frame, I also checked its internal structure, which was relatively clean, except for the area where the seatstays join the seatpost tube.
The main disadvantage of this frame is its weight. The claimed one is around 850g for an unpainted frame. Well, my one weighted 1059g in the 51 size. This is much higher than expected.
If you want to learn more details, read my Winspace Agile review.

- Sizes available: 47, 50, 53, 56, 59, 62cm
If you like the look of traditional road bikes with thin tubes, consider the Vanyar Disc 2024. It’s an upgraded version of the previous Vanyar. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available for rim brakes.
It comes in several unique and stylish color options, making it a great choice to stand out. And if you don’t like the available color options, you can submit a custom design. The Elves logo is elegant and reminiscent of a road bike and an elk. It’s a cool reference to Lord of the Rings, where Thranduil rides an elk.
This frameset includes a seatpost and fork (430g) and is ready for internal cable routing and electronic or mechanical groupsets. Unfortunately, the handlebar or integrated cockpit is not included, so you must purchase one separately. To complete this frameset, you can check out the best Chinese carbon road bike handlebar.
Surprisingly, the weight is higher than the previous generation despite Elves claiming otherwise.
Trifox X16

Main Features
- Frame Type: Lightweight
- Warranty: 3 years
- Seatpost included
- Affordable
- Available for rim brakes
Technical Specifications
- Geometry: Average stack and reach
- Frame Weight: 873g / 923g (through-axle)

Trifox X16 is an affordable, relatively lightweight frame available in multiple cool colors. The frameset includes a fork (319g) and a seatpost (182g). Please note that the frame weight varies depending on the brake type. Yes, this is one of the few frames still available for rim brakes.
Unfortunately, the integrated cockpit or handlebar is not included, but you can check out these Chinese carbon drop handlebars to complete the frameset.

The X16 frame is compatible with electronic and mechanical groupsets and supports internal cable routing. After interviewing one of the X16 owners, I learned it’s a decent bike for beginners or people on a tight budget.
Additionally, Trifox offers a crash replacement program, which provides a 12% discount on the retail price of your next frame if you ever crash.

My Verdict
If you’re considering purchasing a cheap, unbranded frame, be cautious. However, Chinese carbon road bike frames from reputable manufacturers are safe and come with a warranty.
- The best lightweight road bike frame in this selection is Winspace SLC3 (use the CYCLISTSHUB10 code at checkout to get 10% OFF). It weighs just 699g, is made to tight tolerances, and looks fantastic thanks to the sealed through-axles or dropped seat stays. As a bonus, it has 32mm tire clearance and rounded seatpost.
- The most versatile road bike frameset is YOELEO R12 (also available at yoeleoeurope.com and yoeleocanada.com). It has a less aggressive geometry than racing framesets and can handle up to 32mm tires, making it more comfortable and adaptable. You can choose from various sizes and colors and even request a custom paint job. YOELEO backs this frame with a 6-year warranty.
- If you prefer speed and aerodynamics, check out the Winspace T1550 Gen 2. It’s the first Chinese brand frame that made it to the women’s World Tour. I like its attention to detail (not only tolerances but also the sealed through-axles or unique-looking seat stays).
Which frameset do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below.
How to Choose the Best Chinese Road Bike Frame?
There are many unbranded Chinese road bike frames available, which can make it difficult to find a trustworthy one. I recommend buying carbon products from established and reliable Chinese bicycle brands.
All the frames in this article have undergone extensive product testing and come from established manufacturers and with a warranty. In the following buyer’s guide, I explain the features to consider when choosing a new road bike frame.
Disc or Rim Brakes?
The first thing to consider is whether you want to build your next bike on the disc or rim brakes (learn more about their pros and cons). These brake types (and wheels, respectively) use different attachment mechanisms to the frame/fork.
Frames for disc brakes are designed for a thru-axle (also called a through-axle). They must provide threads so the thru-axles can be threaded in/out of the frame/fork.
If you want a bike with rim brakes, the frame and the fork will be designed for a quick release.

Frame Type and Geometry
There are several road bike types. To keep things simple, this article focuses only on endurance, performance, and aero frames. I found out that Chinese manufacturers usually offer performance-oriented (lightweight and aero), sometimes endurance frames. Here is how they differ:
1. Performance-Oriented
- Lightweight performance road frames are ideal for climbers, racers, and people who like thinner frame tube profiles.
- Aero frames are suitable for riders who prefer speed over low weight. They are ideal for flat and hilly terrain.
- All-rounder frames combine the best features of performance and aero frames—they are relatively light and aerodynamic.
2. Endurance Oriented
- Endurance road bike frames allow a more upright position that is more comfortable for beginners and people with limited flexibility.

Weight
Frames’ weight will vary depending on the frame type, size, and painting*. I selected a few dozen frames from various manufacturers to compare their average weight (M size). An average aero disc frame weighs around 1080g, and an average lightweight one weighs 950g. Of course, the premium frames should be below 1000g (painted).
*Complete painting can add around 3.5unces (100g).
Remember that the lightest possible frame may not always be the best choice. Other features, like the stiffness of the frame, are also important.
Stiffness
“The stiffer the frame, the less energy loss, and the faster you ride” applies rather theoretically. The reality is a little bit different. During an interview with Cycling Weekly, experienced carbon frame builder Tom Sturdy noted that a too-stiff frame can tire the rider faster, especially on rough roads, as it cannot absorb unevenness.
Determining a frame’s stiffness can be difficult without more detailed testing data, which is typically unavailable. As a result, you may have to rely on the manufacturer’s claims or the experiences of others who have tried a frame you are interested in.
However, the general rule of thumb is that if the frame tubes, the stiffer the frame. I also noticed that bikes with thicker seatposts and standard (not dropped) seat stays tend to have stiffer rear ends and, therefore, worse riding comfort than bikes with dropped seat stays and thinner seatposts.
Bottom Bracket and Groupset Compatibility
Another thing to consider is whether the frame is compatible with the bottom bracket (BB). There are two basic types of bottom brackets: threaded and press-fit. If you want to learn more about bottom brackets, check out resources like:
Groupset compatibility is usually simpler, as most modern carbon road bike frames are compatible with mechanical and electronic groupsets from popular brands like Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo.
However, using an electronic groupset on an older frame with external cable routing may not look great.
Size and Color Option
Choosing the right bike size is crucial for riding comfort and injury prevention. You can do so using your height or inseam length or consulting a road bike size chart like the one provided. However, it’s usually best to check the manufacturers’ sizing charts and, eventually, consult with them.
TIP: Use the Bikeinsights tool to compare geometries.
Some manufacturers offer the possibility of uploading your own design for color options, but this is typically a paid service and not included in the frame’s price.
Remember that the paint job may add around 100g to the frame’s weight, so if weight is important to you, consider buying a frame without any paint job (raw carbon).
Other Things to Consider
Many framesets include seatposts but might not include integrated cockpits. It’s usually best to buy the cockpit from the same manufacturer as they are usually designed for their frame. Also, remember to choose wisely, as you won’t be able to adjust the fit of an integrated cockpit. If it doesn’t fit you, you have to replace it. I recommend reading my article explaining the pros and cons of integrated cockpits for more info.
Tire clearance is becoming more relevant as wider road bike tires are becoming more trendy. Not so long ago, the maximum tire clearance was 25 or 28mm. Nowadays, 32 mm is becoming a standard.

Any thoughts on Seka from Cycle100? I wondering why it’s more expensive than the average.
Hi Diego,
I saw Seka recently in one of the Cam Nicholls videos, and I have to say it looks great. I am looking forward to learning more about his experience with it.
I guess the higher price is caused not only by the higher built quality that results in lower overall weight, maybe better aerodynamics, and the fact it is UCI certified, but it is a part of a marketing strategy. If a product is expensive, we tend to think it is more premium.
– Petr
Me again,
The max tire size for the Trifox X16 is 28c on AliExpress. On their website, they say 25c…
Maybe there is a difference between V-brake and disc version, or there is an error. It would be worth tho check with the company.
Thanks for the post.
Hi Sylvain,
I contacted Trifox and they confirmed that the 25mm tire clearance is correct. 🙂
I am glad you find it helpful.
– Petr
You did not add SEKA to the list. Have you had a chance to review one yet?
Have you reviewed WiaWis out of South Korea?
Hi Eric,
I know about SEKA but there are not many reviews of it yet. So, I am a little bit hesitant about including it.
First time I hear about WiaWis. I don’t focus on Korean manufacturers. Do you have any experience with them?
– Petr
I’m looking for an endurance frame that would allow me to build a bike to the like of:
Canyon Endurance, Giant Defy, Cannondale Synapse, Trek Domaine, Specialized Roubaix, and the likes. It seems that a lot of the frames i have seen is more aggressive.
Do you have knowledge of any frames that can meet my demands?
Best regards
Ebbe
Hi Ebbe,
The YOELEO R12 has an endurance geometry. One of the best things is that it has 32mm tire clearance. So, you can use wider, higher-volume tires for a comfy ride. 🙂
– Petr
Hi Petr. It unfortunately does not. That Yoeleo R12 has the same stack and reach figures as my BMC Teammachine. That’s a race bike. Do you know any shorter and/or higher Chinese frames (comparable to the ones mentioned by Ebbe)?
Hi Arturo,
Well, according to bikeinsights.com, R12 has an average stack and reach, more leaning to endurance side. Teammachine looks more or less similar, it has not pure racing geometry.
To be honest, I’m not sure. I noticed that Chinese manufacturers usually don’t do endurance road frames.
Whats about Airwolf?
Their YFR009 model also seems to be pretty nice. Anybody has experience with it?
First time I hear about them, to be honest. I checked their website and see a lot of “copycats”.
– Petr
I have been looking into lightweight frames, mechanical, disc, so i can swap out my current SRAM force 22 groupset, with good climbing characteristics and decent flat speed. Best recommendations?
Hi Mark,
thank you for your question. I recommend selling the group set and switching to the electronic one. Most of today’s frames are designed for electronic groupsets, so you don’t have to worry so much about cables and the bike can look cleaner. Especially with SRAM.
I know I didn’t answer you, but I believe you should consider this option. Otherwise, check out the options in this article, or other frames offered by the manufacturers in question.
