Winspace vs. Farsports: Which Brand is Better?

Winspace and Farsports belong to the best Chinese bicycle brands.

They develop and produce high-quality carbon products, mainly wheels, frames, and accessories.

But is one better than the other? The answer depends.

Below, I share my experience with wheelsets from both brands, general info, and more.

About Winspace & Farsports

Winspace was founded in 2011. They develop and produce high-end carbon frames, wheels, and other bike accessories. Their wheelset offer is much narrower than Farsportss’. They focus mainly on road cycling and gravel, frames, and accessories. Winspace also develops its own parts like hubs, rims, or spokes. In 2020, they established an in-house brand called Lún (Lún means a “wheel” in Chinese). Since 2021, their road bike wheels (HYPER and Lún Road Series) are UCI-approved.

Farsports was founded in 2008. However, it flew under the radar of international customers for the first years of its existence. They focus mainly on developing and manufacturing road, gravel, MTB, track, and other carbon wheels from all price ranges. Farsports also designs its hubs. Their wheels meet (and exceed) ISO 4210 standards and are UCI-approved.

Winspace vs. Farsports Compared

Let’s now take a closer look at the highlights of Winspace and Farsports.

Winspace products offer is wider, except for wheelsets, they also produce framesets and other accessories like handlebars. However, their wheelsets offer is narrower than Farsports’.

Lún HYPER wheels and one model of Lún Road Series wheels are UCI-approved.

Farsports has the UCI approval for a few wheelsets only. However, their wheels meet strict ISO 4210 quality standards.

Below, I list a few of the most popular Winspace products.

1. Lún (Winspace) HYPER Wheels

Lún (Winspace) HYPER wheels look amazing. They are well-built, fast, and UCI approved.

They are available in multiple rim depths (38, 50, 65 mm) and also for rim or disc brakes. I tested the 50mm disc option weighing around 1455g (pair).

HYPERs are very stiff and durable, but their crosswind stability is not the best. It’s probably the most significant disadvantage of this wheelset.

2. Winspace T1500 Frameset

Winspace T1500 is an aero frameset that includes seatpost and fork. It’s UCI approved so you can use it in official UCI events. The frame weighs 1050g and is available for disc and rim brakes.

3. Winspace Zero Integrated Handlebar

Winspace Zero integrated handlebar is compatible with all Winspace frames. It is available in multiple stem lengths (85, 95, 105, 115, 125 mm) and widths (380, 400, 420, and 440 mm).

Of course, they were properly stress-tested so you can rely on them in any situation.

Farsports Popular Products

Farsports offers multiple wheelset lines for road, gravel, or MTB. The Ventoux, Kaze, and Classic lines belong to the most popular.

1. Farsports Ventoux S

The Ventoux wheels line is one of the best and most advanced Farsports offers.

Ride-wise, they are excellent (better than HYPERs). They are stiff, durable, and stable in crosswinds.

Additionally, they are covered with a 2-year warranty and a crash replacement policy. So, if you damage them, you get a 35% discount on your next wheelset.

Their main disadvantage is a higher price and a less premium feel from the unboxing.

Farsports Kaze is a mid-range carbon wheels line, offering an excellent price-value ratio.

Kaze wheels are characteristic with their simple design and many options.

You can customize almost everything – from the wheel type (clincher, tubular, tubeless-ready) to rim depth, width, finish, hubs and nipples.

These wheels are high-quality and cost a fraction of the price of mainstream brands. In addition, they are covered by a 2-year warranty.

The only main disadvantage of the Kaze line is that they are not UCI-approved.

3. Farsports Asymmetric 29″ MTB Wheels

Technical Specifications

Farsports’ Ultralight MTB wheels series includes Asymmetric 29er wheels—their asymmetry results in better durability and stiffness.

These wheels meet the ISO 4210 standard, and according to Farsports, their internal impact tests are even stricter, so you can be sure they are highly durable.

You can choose the rim finish (UD matte or satin finish), hub spec depending on your axle, hub (Shimano, XD, or XTR), and also nipples (black alloy, black brass, red alloy).

The rim depth and width vary depending on the specific option that you can choose as well.

Farsports Ultralight Asymmetric wheels are covered by a 2-year warranty.

My Verdict

If you want to buy a road or gravel frameset, check out Winspace because Farsports only produces wheelsets and accessories.

Those looking for wheelsets will have a tougher choice because both companies produce quality wheels proven by riders worldwide.

However, Farsports has an edge here because their wheelset offer is much wider, so you can choose a wheelset based on your needs and budget.

They also produce higher-end and some of the lightest carbon wheels on the market (even when compared with established brands).
